Nova Scotia, one of Canada’s east coast maritime provinces, is virtually surrounded by the sea.  It’s certainly a  part of their lives as anywhere you go in the province you’re really no more than about 100 kilometres from the sea.  There’s also a strong celtic heritage.  But hanging out on the edge of the country into the ocean and connected only by a narrow strip of land to the rest of the country, they’ve developed a bit of their own culture and heritage.

Michael De Adder is an editorial cartoonist in Halifax and recently completed a project called You Might Be from Nova Scotia If….

There are some 120 pages of things that are more or less peculiar to people of the province.
