Alex Coleville exhibit to open at Art Gallery of Ontario

Alex Colville died last summer at the age of 92.  This summer he’s being celebrated in the largest ever exhibit of his paintings at the AGO in Toronto.

Born in Toronto, he lived most of his life in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Christopher Pratt, whom Coleville influenced to forsake med school to paint, described Coleville as a precise sur-realist.

We’ll have more on the AGO exhibit that opens on Saturday August 23rd and runs until January 4th, 2015.
