Doc film- Weather Gone Wild- Director Melanie Wood

The earth has always experienced severe storms, tornados, blizzards, droughts, and floods, but in the past couple of decades some strange things have been happening. It seems that with global warming, the climate is changing and that the weather has gone wild

Dreamfilm director Melanie Wood has looked into the issue in her latest documentary called Weather Gone Wild

It seems that storms are occurring at unusual times, often among the most violent ever recorded, blizzards in areas unused to snow, more severe droughts, more severe floods, again sometimes in uncommon places and/or at unusual seasons.

Filmed in Toronto, Calgary, Miami, Rotterdam and NYC, the film also contains footage of some of the disastrous storms that have wrought havoc and in many cases, large scale death.

The film is not only a wake-up call, and a call to action, but also provides information on how we can cope.

As she points out, even if as humans stopped putting greenhouse gases into the atmosphere today, there’s so much there now, that the earth will continue to warm, and the climate will continue to change, for many decades to come.

Weather Gone Wild will be broadcast on the CBC –TV network show Doc Zone, on Thursday hursday October 23 at 9 pm, and then later be available on the doczone website
