Canada’s Finance Minister Joe Oliver predicted budget surpluses for Canada for the first time in years in a speech to a business audience in Toronto on Wednesday (November 12). Just in time for a scheduled election next year, the minister sees a $1.9 billion dollar surplus in 2015 and a $13 billion surplus by 2019-20.
Minister Oliver was addressing the Canadian Club of Toronto and underlined the success of the Conservative government’s economic handling of the country and in cutting down on what he called “bureaucracy in Ottawa”.
