Samantha Bee says good-bye to the Daily Show

Samantha Bee is moving on.  She has spent twelve years as the senior correspondent on The Daily Show with host Jon Stewart, on the American TV network, Comedy Central.

Samantha Bee, who grew up in Toronto, has been making people laugh and think, with satirical segments on issues like abortion, women in the military and child labour.

In a recent interview on CBC radio, Samantha Bee said she likes doing “big picture pieces”.  “It’s nice to make a statement about something while also being a complete dork and a goofball.”

Fans of Bee’s can catch her on some new comedy programs:  the first, called ‘GAME ON’,  a children’s show, debuted last night on the American, YTV network, and there two others in the works, produced with her husband, Jason Jones, another  Daily Show alum.

GAME ON was taped in Montreal, also starring Jonathan Torrens.  Samantha Bee attended McGill University for a time, so the experience was a bit of a homecoming.
