Celine Dion returns to the stage

Celine Dion will be back on-stage in Los Vegas, August 27th with the first of 40 shows until January 2016.

Dion took a year off to care for her ailing husband, Rene Angelil, to spend time with her three children, and to give her inflamed throat muscles the opportunity to heal.

Rene Angelil, her former manager, has been recovering since having a cancerous tumour removed last year.

The singer says she’s dedicating her return to her husband, and she’s doing it for him.  Backstage at the recent Billboard Music Awards, Dion spoke to reporters;  “He wants me back.  He wants me strong.  He wants to see me again because I’m his favourite singer.” she said.  “So he wants me out there, and I have to say that I’m ready.  It’s hard but we’re ready.”

Dion, 47, is a five-time Grammy award winner and the best-selling Canadian artist, and one of the best-selling singers in the world, with record sales of more than 200 million copies worldwide.

She will be performing at The Colosseum, in Ceasar’s Palace.
