Lilly Singh gets red carpet treatment in Toronto debut

Lilly Singh, better known to her 7.6 million YouTube subscribers as “Superwoman”, is having a debut in Toronto this evening. The internet star who boasts over a billion views, is premiering the documentary of her 2015 world tour, tonight.

“A Trip to Unicorn Island” is the documentary of the 30 cities and all the people she met. The Scarborough, Ontario native grew up in the Greater Toronto Area and began her YouTube ventures in 2010.

Lilly Singh’s weekly posts, featuring her frank and funny style has won the hearts of many. Sh*t Punjabi Mothers Say” is one of her YouTube hits with almost six million views, and “How Girls Get Ready” has reaped an amazing 17.5 million views.  

Recently named by Forbes as one of the world’s top-earning YouTube stars, Singh made an estimated $2.5 million in 2015

Now, “A Trip to Unicorn Island” provides a record of Singh’s journey to stardom. It includes interviews with family and friends as well as the encounter with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who is Lilly Singh’s idol

The 27-year-old describes “Unicorn Island” as her “happy place.” and she’s trying to spread that message that everyone has a Unicorn Island.

“A Trip to Unicorn Island” is available on YouTube’s paid subscription service YouTube Red.
