University launches fundraiser, promises support for students

The University of New Brunswick has launched a major fundraising campaign that it hopes will provide $55 million for students in need of financial help, reports Canadian Press. The eastern province of New Brunswick is one of Canada’s poorer provinces and the university’s president said he wants to make sure the university is as accessible as possible to students.

Tuition was highest in the faculties of dentistry, followed by medicine, pharmacy and law.

The average university tuition for international students was $21,932, but again varied widely among universities.
