Canadian Air & Space Museum launches campaign to preserve its collection

Canadian Air - Space Musem

The "temporarily virtual" Canadian Air and Space Museum has launched its first fundraising campaign to preserve its priceless collection aircraft and artifacts.

Founded in 1997 the museum's goal has been to tell "distinctly Canadian stories of aerospace science and technology [and] the stories of the people connected to these innovations."

Originally housed at Toronto's Downsview Airport it will now be housed near Lester B. Pearson International Airport, but to do that it needs funding and so is appealing to the public for funding to set up at the new location and to provide a hangar for life size replica of Canada's famed Avro Arrow.

Among the campaign's supporters is American actor Harrison Ford who has made a video appeal for the museum.
