Canadian government faces lawsuit for withdrawing from environmental treaty
A former Quebec politician is taking Canada's federal government to court over its decision to back out of the Kyoto Protocol. Daniel Turp, a former member of the separatist Bloc Quebecois Party who is now a professor at the Université de Montréal, argues that reneging on the country’s commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, is unconstitutional.
