Historic Sami Land Rights Case Underway in Sweden

More than a hundred landowners in Västerbotten county want to stop local reindeer herders from using their land for grazing. The indigenous Sami herders in the area say they have ancestral rights over the land. They won the case in two lower courts – the first every such victory in Swedish history.
