A bee keeper near Härnösand is northern Sweden is on the brink of closing his business due to honey raids by a local bear.

The bear has cleaned out about SEK 700,000 worth of the beekeeper’s honey over the last two years.

“It feels pretty hopeless,”, Lars Höglund, who is one of the biggest honey producers in the country, told local newspaper Tidningen Ångermanland, reports Swedish news agency TT.

The county council has turned down a request for a permit to organise and official hunt for the bear.
