Thousands in Sweden join Greta Thunberg for worldwide climate strike

Students braved the pouring rain to hear artists play and 16 year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg speak. She described climate change as the biggest crisis man has faced and that the younger generation will not accept it, hence the reason for the school strike.

The demonstration, which marched past parliament to Sergels Torg, did not go unnoticed by Prime Minister Stefan Löfven who said in a news conference that he understood people’s concerns about climate change.

Greta Thunberg and fellow demonstrators will continue to strike every Friday.
