Sweden is one of five countries receiving top marks in a global ranking of energy efficiency, access to resources, and environmental sustainability.

Sharing the top spot are Switzerland, Denmark, Britain, and Spain.

In compiling the survey, the London-based World Energy Council assigned letter grades to countries for their performance in how well they manage their energy supply, how accessible and affordable energy is across the population, and how much of their power is derived from low-carbon renewables.

Canada came in 6th, France 10th, and the United States ranked 15th. China was 78th, while the lowest of the 129 countries was Zimbabwe.

The report is based on interviews with more than 50 government officials, development banks and international experts from more than 25 countries.
