Autobiography of The Rt Hon. Adrienne Clarkson

On this occasion we meet a woman who as a very young child escaped with her parents from the Japanese invasion of Hong Kong.

Making their way to Canada, the young girl eventually grew up to become one of the best known television hosts and news interviewers.

Adrienne Clarkson eventually was named to one of the country’s most prestigious and distinguished positions, becoming Canada’s 26th Governor-General from 1999 to 2005.

I few years ago on the occasion of the release of her autobiography I had the chance to interview Ms Clarkson in our studio. She spoke about television and its influence, and about arts of which she is a great fan and promoter.

She also spoke about the role of Canada, politics, Canadian identity, our place in the world, and more.

I hope you enjoy this encore presentation of my interview with Adrienne Clarkson.
