Canadian provincial premiers on trade mission to China

Three Canadian provincial premiers representing the majority of Canada’s population will be on a trade mission to China October 29 and 30.

Kathleen Wynne, the premier of Canada’s most populous province and Philippe Couillard, the premier of Canada’s second most populous province, the predominantly French-speaking of province of Quebec, along with Robert Ghiz the premier of the Atlantic coast province of Prince Edward Island will be accompanied by over 240 business and institutional leaders “to further develop international relationships and facilitate potential growth in their economies”, according to a press release Tuesday (October 28).

“I am honoured to be leading the third mission of Canada’s Premiers to China, as well as the largest business delegation in the history of the Council of the Federation,” said Prince Edward Island Premier Robert Ghiz, Chair of the Council of the Federation, which includes all 13 provincial and territorial premiers. “Working together to expand trade and further develop relations with China is an important priority of Canada’s Premiers.”.
