BlackBerry Ltd. is buying software company AtHoc. The Calilfornia-based company develops emergency alert systems for government agencies, military bodies, and other organizations.
AtHoc helps people and organizations connect and share information in times of crisis.
BlackBerry said yesterday, that the AtHoc platform will be integrated with its enterprise portfolio.
AtHoc’s clients include the U.S. departments of defence and homeland security as well as public and private enterprises.
BlackBerry says the dea will enable AtHoc to expand globally. Financial terms of the deal were not released.
