Saturday night snowfall in Winnipeg.

It’s over a month until winter officially begins but on the Canadian prairies it has already hit hard. In the province of Manitoba, the first storm of the season blanketed the largest city of Winnipeg with 27 centimetres of snow over the weekend. The town of Mafeking in west-central Manitoba was paralyzed under 65 centimeters. Roads and highways are still being cleared today. Meanwhile, in eastern Canada, southern Ontario and Quebec are basking in sunshine and record-breaking high temperatures of 18 degrees celsius. (CK)
