Canadian girl returns to Chinese orphanage of her infancy

Vivian Lum is one of over 100,000 Chinese girls adopted internationally since China started allowing such adoptions in 1991. Like many young people of her age, the 15-year-old wondered about her origins. The emotional story of Vivian's return to her birthplace and her encounter with another orphan who remained in China is documented in The Invisible Red Thread, which premieres at this year's Montreal's World Film Festival.
