What is the largest rodeo in the world?
Cowboys and the Wild West are part of Alberta’s western heritage. Calgary, for example, is nicknamed Cowtown. Every year since 1912, the city holds the largest rodeo in the world, the Calgary Stampede. In 2012, it drew more than one 1,4 million spectators. The city is also home to the Saddledome, a stadium with a suspended roof shaped like a saddle. (Source: Calgary Stampede official website.)
