Swedish defence spending to rise by SEK 300 billion over the next decade

- The governing parties and the Sweden Democrats have agreed to borrow more money to increase defence spending.
- Defence will get an additional SEK 300 billion over the next 10 years, which will bring total spending to 3.5% of Sweden’s GDP.
- Sweden’s defence budget is currently sitting at 2.4% of its total GDP. Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson’s describing it as the country’s largest rearmament since the Cold War.
