  • The future use of drones in Sweden’s armed forces is currently being shaped involving up to 200 people at various agencies testing, developing and planning what could become drone units.
  • The Swedish Armed Forces, together with the Swedish Defence Research Agency and the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration, are working on the drones project.
  • As well as reconnaissance drones that are already in place, work is going on to develop drones that destroy other drones and so called suicide drones that blow up when targeting a vehicle or even autonomous drones that make their own decisions and do not need a pilot.
