Health officials say advisory is safety measure due to high turbidity in water

Nunavut health officials have issued a boil water advisory for residents in Clyde River.

A news release on Monday from the Department of Health says it’s a safety measure because of high turbidity, or cloudiness, in the water.

Residents are asked to boil any water used for drinking or for food preparation, including making infant formula or ice cubes, for washing fruits and vegetables, or for brushing teeth.

Health officials say they will issue another notice when the advisory is lifted.
