Finnair adds three direct flights to Lapland from European cities
The Finnish flag carrier continues to expand its network of flights to the north by adding flights directly from Brussels, Paris and Zurich to airports in Lapland.
“The Lapland flights further strengthen our role in connecting the world to the wonders of Finnish Lapland,” said Christine Rovelli, Chief Revenue Officer.
“These direct flights complement Finnair’s broad offering of daily connections to Lapland via its Helsinki hub,” the airliner writes in a press release.
Rovaniemi will get two weekly flights next winter from Paris.
Two weekly flights will also be added to Kittilä from both Brussels and Zurich. Kittilä is the airport next to the Levi ski resort.
This year, Finnair launched a flight from Helsinki, via Ivalo, to Kirkenes in northern Norway. In 2026, the frequency on this route will increase to six flights a week. The airliner will further expand with new flights to Alta and Stavanger in Norway, in addition to the route connecting Tromsø with both Rovaniemi and Helsinki. Next summer Bodø will get six weekly flights from Helsinki.
One more cross-border flight in northern Scandinavia is added to the network for next year: Umeå to Helsinki via Vaasa with 9 weekly departures.
At the busiest this winter, Finnair will have 72 weekly flights to Rovaniemi, 10 flights more than last winter. The airline announces that during Christmastime in December, the peak season for visiting Santa Claus Village, Rovaniemi will see 16 Finnair landings per day on Saturdays and 14 per day on Sundays.
