Arctic Municipality in Sweden ups recruitment perks with housing, ski passes, bonuses

  • With unemployment at 2.2 per cent, the municipality of Gällivare, north of the Arctic circle, needs to find new ways to fill the job vacancies.
  • A recruitment package containing housing and relocation support, ski passes as well as bonuses is now offered to people who are prepared to make the move north.
  • “We’re really digging into our toolbox to see what we can offer,” says Jon Åström Gröndahl, municipal director in Gällivare.
