Columnist Rashi Khilnani introduces us to Toronto-based professor Julie Mehta who believes representations of food in Canadian writing have much to do with identity and belonging. Professor Mehta also explains why food can be used to empower Canadians and why breaking bread can join different cultures here in Canada.
