John Vercellino’s romance with Radio Canada International began with a chance meeting in his parents’ Chicago garage back in the summer of 1965 when he was 11 years old.
Something clicked. A summer fling blossomed into a life-long affair.
Vercellino, now a very successful executive with SunGard Insurance in his hometown, is a man who makes radio work. He is a terrific audience.
Radio, let’s remember, is about engagement. Both the person in front of the mic and the person in by the radio need each other. At its best, radio is a dialogue. Or, what’s the point?
I owe John Vercellino a debt of thanks. Just knowing he might be listening in Chicago made me a way better broadcaster.

Everyone wants romance =) John Vercellino is a really loyal listener of Radio Canada International. It was a pleasure to listen to this broadcast, the dialogue between the radio host and a regular listener was very warm. I also love Radio Canada International, but my love affair is more with my favorite business – with exhibition activities =) Our company organizes exhibitions in Toronto and Ottawa. I remember 26 years ago I was at an exhibition in Kyiv that was held and designed by the exhibition stand builder company CARSHE and was impressed by this wonderful event. In addition to the luxuriously built exhibition stands, the event had various activities that occupied all the attention of visitors. Returning to Canada, I thought, why not try to organize something similar … And now for 25 years I have been in love with exhibitions, conferences and other events =)
