Almost in Nuuk…. Almost…
Montreal, Canada to Nuuk, Greenland – Via Amsterdam, The Netherlands; Copenhagen, Denmark and Kangerlussuaq, Greenland (and yes! You read all that correctly!)
So, after three days, three time zones and four flights, we (and surprisingly, every last piece of our gear!) arrived safe and sound in Greenland.
The flight from Kangerlussuaq to Nuuk was spectacular.
The plane was filled with Greenlanders, Danes and a handful of European businessmen and researchers. It was a well-travelled, jaded bunch, but views like this from the plane …
…. still had everyone lunging for their cameras.
Lisa, a Dane who was one of our seat mates, said living in Nuuk had changed everything about her life. For example, she told us her and her boyfriend now sit at the dinner table side by side instead of facing each other. Why? So they can watch the whales swimming in the fjord while they eat.
Stories like that are hard to beat, let me tell you.
