Inuit art exhibit challenges assumptions
A new Inuit art exhibition is underway at the Winnipeg Art Gallery in the Canadian province of Manitoba.
Titled Creation & Transformation: Defining Moments in Inuit Art, the exhibition covers the evolution of Inuit art from the 1950s until the present day.
Organizers hope the exhibition does more than just expose visitors to Inuit art, they hope it opens up a larger discussion about northern life and culture
To find out more, I spoke recently with Anna Wiebe, Head of Education at the Winnipeg Art Gallery.
