Dawson City, Yukon man charged in connection with stabbing

Dawson City RCMP have charged a man in connection with a stabbing that occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning.

In a news release Sunday afternoon, Yukon RCMP said officers in Dawson City responded to report that an adult man had been stabbed at 1:56 a.m. on July 12. The man was in critical condition and received treatment at the hospital. The incident occurred on Joe Henry Road, just south of the main part of town.

A 24-year-old man from Dawson City was arrested and has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He appeared in court on Sunday and will remain in custody until his next court appearance on Tuesday in Whitehorse.
