Yukon Party budget to set table for next 4 years

It’s budget day in the Yukon, with Currie Dixon’s Yukon Party government set to give a more detailed glimpse of its vision for the next four years.
This will be the first main territorial budget since the Yukon Party took office late last year.
It also marks the start of the spring sitting for the territory’s 21 MLAs.
Dixon put forward a mini, or supplementary, budget in December during a brief sitting of the legislature. He has framed this upcoming main budget as a “difficult” one that comes amid challenging fiscal times for the territory, with the government debt now at $900 million. The territory has a $1.2-billion debt limit.
Dixon will table the budget and deliver his address in the Legislative Assembly Thursday afternoon.
