Employers in far north of Sweden struggling to fill job vacancies

  • Unemployment in the country of Skåne, in the south of Sweden is more than twice as high as in Norrbotten county in the far north of the country but it’s proving difficult to get people to move up north for work, reports Swedish Radio News.
  • Linda Nilsson, the managing director of Norrbotten’s Chamber of Commerce says it seems easier for the region’s employers to find workers from abroad than from the other end of Sweden. But government immigration and labor market policy are a big hurdle.
