Northern Sweden colder than Siberia

Early on Monday, the town of Karesuando in northern Sweden reported this winter’s lowest temperature of – 42.5 degrees Celsius, making it colder than Siberia.
The blistering cold has caused all train traffic north of the city of Boden to be cancelled, and no shuttle buses will be called in due to the extreme temperatures.
Meteorologists say that the cold snap may be lingering over Sweden all week before warmer temperatures move in over the weekend.
