An international team, including experts from Canadian universities, has published new research shedding light on the vulnerability of Arctic water

Axel Heiberg Island, off eastern Canada’s Ellesmere Island (pictured), is one of the northernmost spots of land on the Earth today. But in the Cretaceous period, when the animal that owned the preserved vertebra was alive, the island was at a more southerly latitude than the dinosaur-rich North Slope of Alaska, the study points out.
