This effort is very important; providing teachers a more substantive, strong foundation in Black history is ultimately good for kids. It is impressive that it was held at Uncle Tom’s Cabin, a location rich in historical significance in Ontario, and the fact that the course sold out is an indication that there is a lot of interest and need for educators to be able to teach and learn the history honestly and inclusively. I hope that this type of programming happens more frequently and accessibility to programming like this is expanded in other areas. Thank you for highlighting this initiative. This is the kind of story people need to hear more of.
