Architects invited to Arctic Sweden to redesign city
Architects from all over the world have been invited to Kiruna, a city in Sweden’s Arctic, to give ideas on how to build the new city center.
The city center needs to be moved as heavy mining in the area has compromised safety in the existing city center. Kiruna is home to one of Sweden’s largest mines, operated by mining company LKAB.
The architects are invited to take part in a competition and the winner will be announced next year, news Swedish agency TT reports.
