2012 Inuit Studies Conference
The 2012 Inuit Studies Conference at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History kicked off on Thursday in Washington, D.C.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Arctic Inuit Connections: Learning From the Top of the World.”
Scheduled talks explore everything from governance to resource development to culture.
Politicians, researchers and Inuit representatives are flying in from all over the Arctic including Alaska, Canada’s Nunavut territory and Greenland.
