  • Hundreds of brave souls are preparing to take part in an annual series of races in the Torne River, above the Arctic Circle.
  • In the event, held this weekend, they will swim races in the river on the border between Sweden and Finland, including one at midnight.
  • Ilse Fieldsend from Guildford in the UK is one of those getting ready to dive in: ”It’s amazing to swim in these kind of waters because you’re not frightened of getting infections, or ear infections, or feeling sick afterwards.”
