CN Tower officials are ready with the appropriate lighting to celebrate the announcement of the birth of Prince William and Kate’s first child.
The eight-minute light show at the beginning of each hour will mark the royal arrival in the same way the iconic tower recognizes other important causes and charitable events, such as Canada Day which is red and white.
This is not the first royal occasion at the 553-metre tower. The royal baby’s great-great-grandmother, the late Queen Mother, visited the tower in her 80s, reportedly causing some concern about how she’d fare in the high-speed elevators that take visitors to the top.
The visit went well and she signed the guest book in the Tower’s revolving restaurant. William’s uncle, Prince Edward, has also visited the downtown Toronto landmark, one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city.
