Vancouver Art Gallery’s Grand Hotel Exhibit

Vancouver’s Art Gallery says everyone has a hotel story.  That’s the provocative invitation on their website, to visit the show that’s been on since April 13th.

The exhibit is called, “Grand Hotel: Redesigning Modern Life“, and it has been a big hit in Vancouver, even during the month of July when the west-coast city basked in record-breaking sunshine.

According to Stephanie Rebick, assistant curator, visitors from the docking cruise ships, Grand Hotels on water perhaps, spent a lot of time lingering over the exhibit and taking in the stories.

Visitors explore the evolution of the hotel, from grand to boutique, in four sections; travel, design, social and culture. Each section has images, models and stories to tell.

The exhibit runs until September 15th, and at the moment there are no plans to stage it elsewhere.
