Like fringe festivals around the world, the Vancouver Fringe Festival gives people a chance to see all kinds of theatre.
This year’s edition features 600 performances by 89 artists over 11 days from September 5th to 15th, 2013.
Started in 1985, the Vancouver festival’s “everyone welcome” selection technique for the Mainstage shows “are literally drawn out of a hat, giving all artists, from novice to veteran, a chance to participate.”
The Festival sees its role as “Presenting live theatre in an informal, accessible, and inexpensive environment, the Fringe strives to break down traditional boundaries between audiences and artists, encouraging open dialogue between theatre-goers and theatre-creators.”
