This week, an enormous cultural event in Ontario, as the combined city of Kitchener-Waterloo, hosts its annual Oktoberfest.

Now in its’ 44th edition, this Canadian event is the second biggest Oktoberfest celebration in the world, after the original in Munich Germany itself.
Each year some 700,000 visitors take part in the celebrations which of course feature the necessary ingredients of polkas, trachten (traditional garb of lederhosen, dirndls etc), pretzels, sauerkraut, sausages, and beer. but not necessarily in that order!
The event stretching now over 11 days, also features if not “the” biggest street parade in Canada, certainly one of the biggest.
