Alberta Ballet’s “Fumbling Towards Ecstasy” is on a western Canadian tour. The ballet features the music of singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan and is the third pop music inspired ballet by Canada’s second largest ballet company, which is based in the province of Alberta.
The ballet has been presented since this past spring, and was created by Alberta Ballet’s artistic director Jean Grande-Maître saw the interest generated by his previous two ballets set to contemporary music. The Fiddle and the Drum was set to the music of Joni Mitchell, while Love Lies Bleeding, which reflected the life of Elton John.

“Fumbling Towards Ecstasy” will be performed in Vancouver, November 14 to 16, and in Banff, November 23.
