We start out with a surprising discovery in dentistry. University of Saskatchewan researchers were looking into the issue of dental fillings, containing either mercury from almagam fillings, or plastic monomers from the newer composite fillings, leaching through the teeth and into the body.

They instead found something unexpected.

They discovered that potentially bio-incompatible materials from dentists drills (burs) were being left in the teeth and were also possibly being splashed around inside the mouth during dental work and this into the body.

We hear from dental materials professor Dr Assem Hedayat

Lynn spoke this week to Alex Neve, Secretary-General of Amnesty International Canada in regard to their annual report on Canada’s human rights record.

The report cites Canada as lapsing in a number of areas. It says Canada used to be a leader in human rights issues but has fallen down not only on the international front, but within Canada as well.

With the recent announcement that Canada’s national mail service, Canada Post announced it was going to stop delivery mail to homes, the CEO of the crown corporation was called to answer questions by Parliamentary members.

Canada Post says most Canadians now do not receive door to door delivery. However in looking at their own statistics, a slightly more traditional interpretation of what constitutes home delivery reveals quite the opposite.

CEO Deepak Chopra also claimed that senior citizens were in favour of delivery to community mailboxes instead of home delivery, as he claims they told him they like the idea of extra exercise walking to the community mailboxes. This statement has been widely criticized.

The questioning of Mr Chopra was at times emotional, as Wojtek notes in his report

In closing, from all of us here,  we wish you all the best this holiday season.
