“This eighth Festival TransAmériques is lavish, varied and highly exuberant. It is a projection of our dreams and our hopes, our indignations and our rebellions,” says the festival’s co-founder and general and artistic director Marie-Hélène Falcon. “It is anchored in its historical origins and also in the present moment. It questions its role in society, a world that these artists probe, reveal and, by their very presence, transform.”
For her last edition at the helm of the FTA, the first was in 1985, Falcon continues to bring an eclectic variety of dance, theatre and performance art.
This year’s edition of this popular Montreal festival starts on Thursday (May 22) and ends on June 7.
