Canadian Official Opposition Members of Parliament started off the week Monday (March 12) with more questions about the federal government’s proposed anti- terrorism legislation, Bill C-51.
The new legislation would give wide-ranging powers to Canadian authorities, police and spy agencies to spy on Canadians, share information, commit illegal acts and disrupt national threats. There are also questions whether demonstrations and protests in Canada would give authorities the right to spy on those who participated in the demonstrations.
RCI’s Wojtek Gwiazda has a report.
