Shania Twain’s new album available Friday

Shania Twain, the Canadian country-pop superstar, is releasing her latest studio album, called “NOW” on Friday September 29th.

“I’m definitely more revealing in this album than ever before”

Twain is set to headline the halftime show at the 105th Grey Cup game of the Canadian Football League being hosted in Ottawa on November 26th, 2017.

“It’s an absolute honour to return to the Grey Cup stage in the nation’s capital during Canada’s 150th birthday,” Twain is quoted as saying in a press release.

“I’m thrilled to be coming home and being a part of the country’s biggest annual party.”

Shania Twain first played the Grey Cup, hosted in Edmonton, Alberta in November 2002, following the release of her album, UP!

That album went Diamond in Canada after 17 days, meaning it sold over 1,000.000 copies.

Twain starts a world tour in support of the new album in May 2018.

“I’m definitely more revealing in this album than ever before,” the singer told CBC News during an interview this past June.

“The way I feel in my heart is just going into my music right now. And I’m happy with that.

“I feel good about sharing it and it’s good for me, too.”

This is the first time Shania Twain has written and co-produced all of the songs on her album.

“That was a big undertaking,” Twain told CBC, “but I welcomed the challenge of that.”

She worked with producers Jake Gosling (Shawn Mendes and Ed Sheeran), Ron Aniello (Bruce Springsteen), Jacquire King (Kings of Leon) and songwriter Matthew Koma (Kelly Clarkson).

Shania Twain embarked on a Farewell Tour in 2015 as she was still recovering her health and from the high profile divorce from her former husband, songwriting partner and producer, Robert (Mutt) Lange in 2010.

In 2011 she was diagnosed with dysphonia, which affects the vocal cords making it difficult to talk or sing.

This year, Twain revealed she had been suffering from Lyme disease as well, which, combined with stress, was the likely cause of the dysphonia.
