Finnish president on state visit to Norway

Sauli Niinistö. Image: Lehtikuva. yle.fiFinnish President Sauli Niinistö will meet Wednesday with King Harald V of Norway and Queen Sonja, as well as with the country’s top politicians.

Niinistö’s spouse Jenni Haukio accompanies him on this visit, which will conclude on Friday.

In Oslo, the Finnish head of state will meet with Norway’s political leaders.

He will also hold a speech at an event organised by the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs, and take part in a seminar on Finnish-Norwegian economic relations.

In addition, Niinistö will pay a visit to Tromsø in Northern Norway, where the agenda will focus on issues of Arctic research and cooperation.
