Canada out of Northern health group
A report in the Canadian newspaper Embassy says Canada has pulled out of the Northern Dimension Partnership on Public Health and Social Well-Being.
The international group describes itself on its website as “a cooperative effort of ten governments, the European Commission and eight international organisations.”
It lists its two priorities as reducing communicable and non-communicable diseases and promoting social well-being with a focus on Arctic and sub-Arctic regions.
Other circumpolar countries involved in the partnership include Finland, Sweden, Iceland, Norway and Russia.
