Buses in Eskilstuna, west of Stockholm, Sweden, are to be powered in the future by beer.

Swedish Radio News reports that the publicly-owned power company Eskilstuna Energi och Miljö is working with the local micro-brewery Eskilstuna Ölkultur to convert malt residues from beer production to make biogas.

In a press release, Eskilstuna Ölkultur says this is one of several steps towards more environmentally-friendly beer production.
